Went here while on a golf trip. The food was excellent albeit a bit on the 'old school's side for preparation and presentation. They have a better than average wine list. Our server was excellent, very personable and very funny. If you're in Parksville it is worth a visit
I met up with a friend from Dawson Creek in Parksville and after an afternoon at sandcastles it was time for dinner. I suggested Kalvas as I'd been there over 25 years ago (moved to Fort St John 24 years ago and remembered eating there. We weren't disappointed! She had the special of steak and prawns and I had the mixed seafood dinner. We were amazed at how delectable our dinners were!! Everything was perfectly prepared! Dessert was the topping of the meal. I will highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back. The service was excellent; servers very friendly..Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience!!
I was taken here for my birthday dinner and it was fabulous! The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere inside was great. They even brought over a free dessert for my birthday! I highly recommend this place. We thought it would be outrageously priced but it was quite reasonable for what it was. We had the prime rib dinner and halibut dinner and they were both delicious.I can't wait to go back.
Best meal and service I have yet had in Canada, and that is saying something! I thoroughly recommend the Mussels appetiser, gorgeous taste and presentation. Wish I wasnt leaving town tomorrow so I could come back.
Amazing meal! I had the seafood sampler dish which had huge pieces of all the fish they regularly serve. The prawns and scallops were cooked to perfection. I finished the evening off with their cheesecake which was also the best I've tasted in a long time. Order the sauces on the side so you can taste the cheesecake although the sauces make a dessert in itself. I highly recommend this restaurant.
