Weve been going to Amrikkos for 4 years now. For Parksville, the food has always been average and weve returned. After tonight, I wont return. I arrived when the food should have been ready and the hostess tried my card 4 times, each time the payment not going through because of a communication error. She asked me to wait while she helped other customers and didnt return to tell me what was happening. Finally, another server tried my card 2 more times before it worked. This happened over 15 minutes, in a muggy and hot restaurant entrance and after a 10hr work day. I recognize that it was the machine that wasnt working but there was no follow-through or apology, even after I politely expressed that I was frustrated with the service and embarrassed that lines of other customers were waiting while my card continued to be declined for their error. When I returned home (after our order had been sitting stagnant), my husband called to speak with the manager. He heard the server tell the manager it was a complaint and the manager declined to speak with him. There were 2 opportunities for a simple apology before I decided to take to social media. I will happily take down my review if the manager is able to offer a personal apology. I am not prepared to spend money on being embarrassed and waiting much too long in a hot restaurant entrance.
Bad really bad....unexpectedly bad food. Ordered Mix veg for dinner after a tiring day. Elephant size cauliflower, broccoli and potatoes.....Maaan!!! its an indian restaurant representing indian cuisine....for god sake who puts Broccoli and mushrooms in an indian mix veg dish??? I re-checked, if i must hv called edo japan for the order...Lol.......addon to my temper the garlic naan...ridiculous...seemed like a dinosaur must have stepped on a dough....check for ur self ...pics attached!!!! Feel sorry for the food....RIP.....thnks anyways for not letting me sleep starved.
One of the best restaurant in Vancouver island. Awesome food ,friendly staff & good ambience. It is in good location... not very far from parksville community beach.
We waited over and hour for or meal. Never been that bad before. They said was due to all the take outside. Will not be going back again
Small restaurant serving a good variety of tasty traditional east indian food. Choice of mild, medium or hot. Order at least an hour ahead for take out. Recommended...I often order from this restaurant.
