Wow! What a great morning spent with Bill on board his new larger boat. From the time we met Bill he was informative, fun and knowledgeable and had no problem sharing fishing stories with us throughout the trip (the kids loved heading about past encounters with humpback wales, dolphins, orca, big salmon etc). Despite being out of season we caught a beautiful 10lb Chinook Salmon plus a couple of dozen BC Spot Prawns courtesy of the traps Bill has "soaked" for us the day before. Needless to say we enjoyed a great seafood supper later that evening. All in all we had a great time with Bill and would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for an authentic BC fishing experience! My wife and I chartered the Active Angler fishing boat for a fishing trip off French Creek Marina. We had a very good time. The boat is clean and roomy. On board equipment is modern and up to day. Captain Bell is an excellent seamen but most importantly he is a very nice person and provided excellent service. His rate is very reasonable compared to the other outfits. I would highly recommend Active Angler to anyone who is a looking for a fishing trip in the Parksville, BC area.
Had a blast out on the water with Bill. He's a knowledgeable guide who knows where to hit fish and knows how to stay safe on the water. Caught 6 fish and were able to legally keep a coho, spring and a rockfish.Thanks for the awesome day Bill!
Bill is a great person to deal with, understanding and fair. We had prebooked a fishing charter for August 16/18, unfortunately part of our group got delayed by a cancelled flight. Bill was completely understanding and more than fair by offering us an alternate date that was to be his day off.We were very impressed with Bills attention to details from the initial briefing on where safety equipment was located onboard, operation of the radio, to how to operate the craft in case of an emergency, the quality of his fishing gear, his knowledge of the fishing area,Bill is committed to giving his guests the best possible fishing experience and after our successful trip I would definitely recommend fishing with Bill.
What a wonderful experience! My first time on a fishing charter boat, also my first time salmon fishing. We caught a few hatchery Coho Salmon and were able to take them home to enjoy later (YUM - cant get fish much fresher than that). We were pleasantly surprised by Bills extensive knowledge on the ocean, fishing and boating in general, and felt very safe on his boat. In addition to that, Active Anglers was one of the few companies in the area that could accommodate our group of 5 passengers, and we enjoyed his lighthearted humour and positive attitude throughout the day. Needless to say, Bill is the guy you want to be with for an exceptional charter experience. Loved it!
